At the end of 1966, John Lennon started wearing glasses and then he has never taken off, why?

Why does anyone start wearing glasses??

He acquired a pair of circular-rimmed glasses during the filming of 1966 "How I Won the War". He found he loved. He kept wearing them.

It has always been to wear glasses, and there are many pictures of him wearing those black-rimmed glasses (Buddy Holly style) during the Beatlemania days earlier. But he started wearing glasses more permanently in 1966, because certain styles of glasses has become fashionable. All the Beatles started wearing colored glasses of tea-style shade. It was during "How I Won the War" filming in Spain he was hooked on this particular round wire glasses.

He needed to see, duh. He had always need them, it just never wore them. I guess his sight deteriorated. I wear glasses too, I find it difficult to read or recognize faces of people from far away, at first it was manageable, but now I need to wear them all the time. I guess what happened to John. Plus when the Beatles had just started going out all female fans went crazy for them and they needed to look good. Who will fall for the guy in glasses who can not see very well?

Do not feel bad for asking. I felt the same thing, but she realized that someone else said here, that maybe he just does not wear them in public to maintain a certain image for fans of female but was in the studio or at other times.
